EEC Lincolne Scott has worked on several projects with Bumrungrad Hospital in Building B including: converting the hospital management floor to VIP Inpatient Wards, Women’s Clinic, Digestive Diseases Clinic, Birthing Centre, MRI Centre, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) including positive and negative pressure isolation rooms, Admissions & Pharmacy and Chemo-Therapy Clinic.

Healthcare facilities have very different requirements from offices or residences. The spaces must provide appropriate indoor air quality, infection control, thermal comfort and acoustics, for the health and well-being of patients and their families. Clinical areas must also be appropriately lit and conditioned to allow for proper use of the functional space.

Air conditioning was provided to all occupied areas. Some issues that were considered included humidity control (to prevent mould), undesirable odours including patient body odour and the appropriate airflows from clean areas towards dirty areas.

A state of the art Building Automation System (BAS) is also featured in the building. The comprehensive BAS incorporates direct digital controls that allow the facilities management to have access to monitor and control the major MEP equipment.

Healthcare facilities are environments for the diagnosing, treatment and healing patients. WSP designed building

services for appropriate lighting and temperature to provide a better experience for patients, their families and hospital staff.

A successful outcome was achieved through collaboration of all team members on this project.
